Sensei Elzabieta brings over 25 years of experience in community health education and nonprofit leadership to her role as the Director of Cottonwood Restoration INC. With a profound commitment to empowering youth, she has dedicated her career to developing programs that promote holistic well-being and personal growth, particularly for at-risk populations.

Her extensive background in mind-body medicine complements her expertise in martial arts, allowing her to integrate physical discipline with emotional resilience in her programs. Sensei Elzabieta's unique approach fosters an environment where youth can cultivate strength, confidence, and leadership skills while engaging with their community and the natural world.

Throughout her career, she has demonstrated exceptional skills in curriculum development and program delivery, creating innovative educational experiences that address the diverse needs of young people. Her proficiency in team building and collaboration has enabled her to forge strong partnerships within the community, enhancing the impact of her initiatives.

Specializing in trauma-informed practices, Sensei Elzabieta understands the challenges faced by youth in vulnerable situations. She employs her knowledge to create safe, supportive spaces that encourage healing and growth, empowering participants to overcome obstacles and thrive.

Senpai Alina Southall serves as the Program Director and Youth Liaison at Cottonwood Restoration INC, bringing a lifelong passion for teaching that ignited at the age of 8. Known for her ability to connect with youth in a fun and engaging manner, Alina has a unique talent for creating dynamic learning environments that inspire curiosity and foster personal growth.

With substantial experience in program design and delivery, she has successfully implemented initiatives that encourage active participation and exploration among young people. 

Alina’s commitment to making learning enjoyable is complemented by her disciplined approach to martial arts, where she has honed her skills as a competitor in both national and international Enshin karate tournaments. Her martial arts journey has instilled in her a sense of respect, resilience, and dedication that she passionately shares with her students.

In addition to her martial arts expertise, Alina is currently pursuing a teaching certificate in Waldorf education, which reflects her commitment to holistic and experiential learning. 

Having been an unschooling youth since the 6th grade, she understands the value of self-directed education and seeks to empower young people to take charge of their own learning journeys.

At Cottonwood Restoration INC, Senpai Alina’s enthusiasm and innovative approach will play a pivotal role in nurturing the next generation of leaders, encouraging them to explore their interests while developing essential life skills in a supportive and engaging environment.

Rasheem Wilson serves as the Facilities Supervisor at Cottonwood Restoration INC, bringing a wealth of experience and a unique perspective shaped by his journey as an at-risk youth. His foundation in nature immersion and farmland management has instilled in him a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for the environment, which he now shares with the youth he serves.

As a skilled carpenter, Rasheem is responsible for overseeing the infrastructure development of our campus, including the construction of greenhouses, gardens, and outdoor classrooms. His hands-on expertise ensures that our facilities are not only functional but also designed to inspire and engage youth in their learning experiences.

Rasheem's enthusiastic and encouraging demeanor makes him a natural mentor, fostering a sense of belonging and confidence among the young people he works with. His commitment to land conservation and preservation is evident in his approach, as he integrates sustainable practices into every project, promoting a culture of environmental stewardship within the community.
