    Inclusivity & Collaboration

We offer two age-specific tracks: the Peewee Program for ages 5–7 and the Growth Program for ages 8–17. Our Youth Mentor Leadership Track is an empowering program designed specifically for high school students who already demonstrate strong leadership qualities and are eager to expand their skills through hands-on mentorship experiences—all while enjoying a fun, engaging environment.

Participants in this track take on roles as peer mentors within our program guiding younger students in activities like dojo fitness games, outdoor explorations, and mindfulness sessions. This not only hones their ability to inspire and support others but also builds deeper resilience, emotional intelligence, and conflict resolution skills through real-world applications in rural community settings.

    Daily Rhythm

Sample Session Structure (6-Hour Full-Day Session)

    • Morning Kickoff: Enshin Karate & Dojo Fitness Games (1.5 hours): Start the day with age-appropriate martial arts training to build strength, technique, and self-discipline. Follow with group fitness challenges focusing on cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, and muscular strength through inclusive, teamwork-oriented activities rooted in martial arts principles.
    • Outdoor Exploration & Permaculture Design (1 hour): Venture into ecological field-based learning with hands-on activities like soil testing, habitat studies, composting, planting, and water conservation. Students apply permaculture principles to understand system interactions, promoting sustainability, problem-solving, and food security.
    • Arts & Crafts with Elemental Sciences (45 minutes): Engage in multi-sensory projects blending visual art, science, and cultural storytelling—such as creating bioregional maps, weather diaries, or science-inspired sculptures. This sparks creativity while deepening understanding of natural elements.
    • Food as Medicine & Snack Preparation (45 minutes): Explore nutrition through identifying medicinal herbs, preparing healthy snacks, and learning about culturally diverse food practices. Discussions on how choices impact wellness empower students to make informed decisions for long-term health.
    • Mindfulness & Resilience-Based SEL (1 hour): Dedicate time to breathwork, guided meditation, self-expression, and emotional regulation practices. Incorporating trauma-informed approaches, this includes peer dialogue, restorative practices, and goal-setting to enhance resilience and self-reflection.
    • Closing: Healthy Social Interaction & Wrap-Up (45 minutes): End with group agreements, cooperative play, peer mentorship, and leadership opportunities. Focus on communication, empathy, boundary-setting, and cultural humility to strengthen social skills and community bonds.

    Alpine Acheivers Initiative Partnership

What This Partnership Means for Your Child:

We're thrilled to announce our partnership with the Alpine Achievers Initiative (AAI), a dedicated non-profit inspiring and nurturing youth, families, and communities in rural Colorado. In this collaboration, AAI serves as our fiscal agent, providing essential administrative and financial oversight to streamline operations and ensure compliance.

This role empowers Cottonwood Restoration to focus on our core mission—delivering transformative homeschool enrichment through Enshin martial arts, nature-based learning, and life skills—while unlocking new doors for our participants.

As our fiscal sponsor, AAI bridges connections with local school districts, enabling homeschool families to access district-level resources that enhance educational and extracurricular opportunities. This means seamless integration into programs like sports teams, reliable transportation services, and additional enrichment activities such as field trips and workshops. By becoming a satellite program under AAI, we're excited to assure our rural community receives the support it deserves, fostering inclusivity and growth in areas with limited access.

This partnership allows us to run our Homeschool Enrichment program in direct collaboration with family participants, tailoring experiences to address real challenges like mental health, peer pressures, and opportunity gaps. Together with AAI's mentorship and community-building expertise, we're creating a supportive ecosystem where every child can thrive.
